As you may know, last Saturday I went to my first ever blogging event. It was organised by the lovely Alice and Amy. It’s not the first event they have organised and that was very clear when I attended the amazing event. It was so much fun, it was a great venue, great brands and so much to do – very well organised, so thank you ladies!
The event was held at Revolution in Southampton. Where they have a fantastic range or cocktails and food on offer. The lovely people at Revolution offered us bloggers 2 for 1 on the cocktails too!
I arrived on my own and it was what I can only describe as the most socially awkward five minutes of my life as I walked over to the bar, looking at everyone else who had arrived with people or already gone through the awkward five minutes that in was experiencing. Until another girl walked in, who I briefly recognised – thank the Lord for Twitter – I just plucked up the courage to go and introduce myself and say hello, which is where I met the lovely and beautiful Sam from made from beauty. Although she was reassuring me how much of a bad blogger she was too, I soon came to realise that was all a LIE when she whacked out her business cards… Her blog is amazing – definitely worth a read! We then pretty much stuck with each other the rest of the day and became blogging pals instantly.
We then saw 2 girls looking similarly awkward like us so we all mingled and after only speaking to us for a minute one of the girls Chloe spills her drink everywhere and usually I am the clumsy one so I knew from that moment we would get on! After I helped her clean up we too became blogging pals and we knew what needed to be done…
The first brand there was hairfinity, where the ladies gave us a lovely gift bag of hair supplements and little instructions for DIY hair masks. I can’t wait to try these all out.
The girls at hairfinity were holding a competition. To win a hamper with £250 worth of hairfinity products you had to plait one of the girls hair blindfolded. They timed us all and the person who did it in the quickest time won!
Another brand that was at the event was Espa. We all got the chance to have a mini skincare consultation with one of the Espa ladies and then we got a little goody bag from them too which includes some beautiful little mini skin care samples and also a 15% off voucher!
Alice and Amy had organised a raffle with loads of amazing prizes including £50 gift cards for west quay Shopping, an insta mix Polaroid camera and a benefit box of goodies worth £150! We managed to raise £350 between us for the Epilepsy society charity which is fantastic so well done everyone!
I also got to meet the lovely Brogan who I absolutely adore – her weekly vlogs absolutely crack me up and it was so lovely to finally meet her and say hello. You can catch a glimpse of the meetup on her youtube channel now!
I had so much fun and can’t wait for the next event! It was completely outside of my comfort zone but it was so worth it!
