London fashion weekend | The Saturday

Last weekend as you may already know I went to London fashion weekend at the Saatchi Gallery in London. I am collaborating with one of my favourite blogger girls and friend Sam from madefrombeauty. I will be covering the event from Saturday and Sam will cover it all from the Sunday and her post will be up tomorrow, so make sure you check it out!

I travelled up to London with my best friend Grace, we were so excited as this was our first London fashion week experience. We jumped off the tube at Solane square and walked around for a while trying to find the beautiful gallery.

We arrived in the afternoon as we had a later time slot. Which meant we could grab a bit to eat before hand and have plenty of time to get in there before the queues. Obviously we had to take a lot of pictures and OOTD’s…

The Saatchi gallery is the new home to London fashion weekend and I have to say it was a perfect location. With lots around it for bites to eat and good photo opportunities.

Upon our arrival we were handed this little book/guide/londonfashioneekend magazine. This had a handy little timetable in for the day’s events and also loads of collumns from the designers and brands.

We jumped straight into our show when we got there. I saw the Trends show. It was fantastic, although it was my first ever catwalk show, I still think it was fantastic! Very fast pace show on all the upcoming trends for this season.

The room was filled to the brim with fashion lovers and the excitement was buzzing through everyone.

Onto the trends…

Into the wild

The first trend we saw was the ‘into the wild’. This is all about the patterns, animal prints, clashing different prints and wearing black with the prints. I really enjoyed this trend and definitely saw a few ideas that I would like to work into my wardrobe.
Into masala

The second trend is all about the Reds, paprika, plum and burnt orange colours. I think this is my favourite trend. It definitely stood out the most to me with the vibrant autumnal colours. Mixtures of patterns and bold colours.
Super retro

This trend is all about the 70’s theme. Contuinuing the retro trends that we have loved over the summer. Some of the main bits I picked out were the double denim, layering, flares, warm colours and bold patterns. This was definitely a more fun trend with lots to play around with!

Punk rock

The fourth and final trend of the cat walk is ‘punk rock’.This involves a lot of checkered prints, red, black, leather and tassels. So we are seeing the return of  a lot of poplar trends. I thought this trend was one of the more sophisticated looks on the catwalk and I loved it!

The finale!

At the end of the show the models all came back out modelling the whole range of trends. So much to look at and take in, I loved it!

Next up we headed over to the tote bag pick-up where we collected our designer London fashion weekend tote bag!   They were full of some lovely goodies including a lipstick from maybeline.
We then had a little explore round all the galleries…

There were so many beautiful little bits such as these black boots!
I was onthe look out for bits that inspired me for the new trends…
I loved loved loved these berry tone tops and matching satchels on show! Would fit perfect for the ‘Into masala’trend…
We stumbled upon some… Interesting… Glasses on display…

There was a Scavi & Ray prosecco bar to sort out our cravings after the hectic fashion filled day!

Upstairs Maybeline had a gorgeous little set up offering deals on make up and makeovers!
We then headed over to the London fashion weekends sponsors room…The Very Exclusive girls were lovely!

They were offering competitions and a photo booth so obviously we did a few poses and had a laugh!
On our way out we stopped by the big London fashion weekend sign to have a quick pic!
I had such a fun day and loved my first fashion week experience! Make sure you check out Sam’s post tomorrow for the Sunday coverage! And I will be doing an outfit post of what I wore.

Did you go to London fashion weekend? What’s your favourite trend?
