Each year it is a tradition of mine to go to the Christmas Market in Winchester city centre. If you aren’t familiar with Winchester it’s a old style town in the south of England with beautiful cobbled high street with some cute eateries and shops. It also has this beautiful cathedral. I have been going to Winchester for years now and I love it! The Christmas market it right next to the cathedral so is very picturesque, it’s a big walk around with stalls of festive goodies, gifts, decorations, random bits and bobs and of course food. There is also an ice rink and pop up cafe.
It is always so busy because everyone loves a good Christmas market…
Hand made Christmas decorations…
After stuffing my face with a giant hotdog, I did then treat myself to some of this Madagascan vanilla candy floss. I seriously couldn’t turn it down, it smelt amazing!
The ice rink was so busy! It’s best to pre book this as it usually sells out quite fast. And what gets you feeling more festive than ice skating in a Christmas market next to a cathedral?!
Even just strolling round Winchester got me in the Christmas spirit. They have a market in the high street a couple of times a week and it happened tone into day. There were musicians playing Christmassy music and the Christmas lights were lighting up the high street in this gloomy weather! Winchester is such a cute town and really does get into the festive spirit!
What is your favourite Christmas market to go to? Any recommendations?!
