As I mentioned in my post, I have been really enjoying wearing more pink and nude coloured lips recently and one of them has been this urban decay matte revolution lipstick which my blogging girls kindly bought me for my birthday (they know me well – lipstick is the way to my heart).
It’s my first ever lipstick from UD and I have to say I have fallen completely and utterly in love! I want to buy the whole collection…
The packaging is so smooth and sophisticated with its weighted, warped shape and ahiny exterior. It has urban decay embossed into the lid very subtle but the minute you take the lid of and see the purple you know it’s urban decay.
I have the shade ‘stark naked’ which it really is very true to its name and in my eyes an “ultimate” nude shade. I couldn’t wear this on its own as for me personally the shade is far too nude and hunk it washes me out, where as others have said it suits me – It’s really what you like I suppose! However as I have said before I am a fan of pink lipsticks and so I paired this lipstick up with one of my pink lip liners – Kiko 01 intensely lavish – I line and fill my lips with the pink lip liner and then go over a coat with the lipstick which creates such a lovely, wearable, everyday sort of look. Perfect for work or if I’m going with a smoky eyeshadow look. The two paired together actually remind me of my MAC lipstick ‘Mehr’.
It’s a matte finish, which needless to say is my favourite lipstick finish. However this formula is so rich and creamy it doesn’t feel much like. Matte formula at all! It’s very pigmented, I only really apply one layer of product, especially when pairing with a lip liner. The lasting power is so impressive, normally after my first cup of coffee I am touching up my lippy but with this I can go until lunch time without having to re apply!
Overall I am in love with this lipstick, more than I thought I would be. I’m not quite sure why I have avoided UD lipsticks before now but I definitely will be adding a few more to my collection after trying this one.
