Last weekend I visited the beautiful Grand Cafe in southampton. It was my friend Jess’s 21st birthday so a group of us surprised her to a day of being a princess and having afternoon tea at this beautiful restaurant/bar.
The price for the afternoon tea is £17.50 (per person) for unlimited tea and a cake stand which offers a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with cream & jam and a variety of cakes. Each cake stand was one between two. There is a wide range of tea which you can chose from – earl grey, English breakfast and fruit teas – you can fill your boots with as much tea as you fancy! It costs £24.50 if you want to add a glass of champagne to your afternoon tea. It is on the expensive side, but this was for a special occasion and it was a lovely treat.
I did fill up mainly on the scones, they were heavenly! We had such a lovely afternoon full of indulging and laughing. I love seeing these girls, I always come away in a good mood! The service was brilliant, I couldn’t fault it. The staff were all friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I said to the girls about going back one evening for cocktails as its such a beautiful place.

I can’t wait to go back to The Grand Cafe. Have you been before? Any other after on tea recommendations?
