Last Thursday I traveled up to London for the day as the lovely girls from Seventeen had invited me along to the seventeen bloggers network event. I have to just start off with saying how well put together the event was, well done seventeen for such a great event!
We were greeted with drinks and canapés and then let loose on the beauty stations or as I like to call it the ‘perfect selfie stations’! There was so much to play with… I love the new instant glow pink bronzing rocks.
After a glass of elderflower we had a beauty demo from the goregous celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Guallar. She did several different looks throughout the evening to look out for for the beauty trends for Autumn/winter 16.
I watched the ‘Sci-fi’ makeup look. This is based on a timeless, classic natural makeup look and adding a lot of highlighter to create a metallic shimmer sheen for a futuristic look. I am going to attempt to re-create the look in another blog post soon!
Some of the other looks were;
‘Flushed cheeks’ – which is a fresh faced, glowy look with a pop of colour on the cheeks. Think pink rosy cheeks on a cold autumn afternoon.
‘Grey and white eyes’ – you can take this trend from a simple day look to a dramatic evening look with a touch of eyeliner.
‘Glamorous goth’ – seventeen have said its all about showing off your dark side this Autumn! Deep, dark and dramatic lips teamed up with a fresh face and big black lashes to complete this glam goth look!
‘Bold lips’ – possibly my favourite trend for A/W. I love my lipsticks as you may know… And seventeen are killing it with their new mega matte lipsticks. It’s all about that bold statement lip. Just because the weather is “cooling down” it doesn’t mean your lip colour needs to! I love my bright and bold colours so this is right up my street.
After a little mingle and chat with the other bloggers it was time for the final chat with fellow beauty blogger and youtuber Katie Snooks. Katie has been doing this for the last 7 years. So hearing her top ten tips to grow your blog and just have a general chat about blogging was so useful! She was so lovely and down to earth too which was so lovely to see.
After a fab evening, chatting, playing with makeup and hearing some brilliant tips it was time I headed back home. The girls have me a goodie bag with the press release and some of the new release products which I’m going to do a separate post on tomorrow.
Thanks again Seventeen for having me!
