Trek America| Mountie | Planning

For those of you who don’t know I am going on another Trek America this year in August. I am going to Canada for 2 weeks to do a camping trip known as ‘Mountie’. Its going to be a completely different experience this time round and I am so excited. I booked in October and  I have to say its kind of been at the back of my mind up until now as I have had other trips and things to plan. But I am definitely starting to get into the planning mode now…

Even though it is an ‘organised tour’ there is still a lot of planning involved. I have never done a camping trip like this before so I am going to need to invest in some travelling items such as:

And probably a load more stuff that I haven’t even thought of yet.

I also need to arrange travel insurance still as I thought I would look around myself this year instead of just booking it through Trek America. I also need to sort out my Canadian Visa as it is different from the ESTA – US visa.

I have been looking at the optional activities for the trek and also been doing a little research as to whats around the areas I am going to and I have complied a list which includes horseback riding, white water rafting, mountain biking and much more along with the prices so I have an estimate of how much I will need. I did this last year and it really helped me to budget.

I think its best to make a list like this a good few months before you go so you can get organised in plenty of time and also budget properly for the trip.

The count down is officially on and at present theres 223 days until trek!
