I am sure the oriental food fans out there when you see the words ‘All You Can Eat’ and ‘Buffet’ you are over joyed. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of buffets or oriental food, mainly because I am a little fussy and never know what to try… That being said, I was a little more adventurous when I visited Kung Fu Oriental Buffet* in Eastleigh recently, for review purposes obviously.
Located in the centre of Eastleigh, with the cinema and bowling complex, Kung Fu Eastleigh is standing its own on the oriental food front with the popular Nando’s and Chimichanga chains surrounding it.
You enter through a tranquil lobby into the oriental themed restaurant. Its really spacious inside, which I really liked, as often in buffet style restaurants they can feel like you are eating in a canteen, packed in with so many people. I did visit quite early on a friday evening, 6pm – which I would highly recommend as it was relatively quiet and we had free range of the buffet.
Theres some great choice of food to fill up on from the Chinese classics, a variety of curries, street food and sushi. There is a chef on stand by to cook for you. I tried some teppanyaki and squid, which was a very adventurous move from me as I am not a seafood fan… I enjoyed most of the food and if i had to chose my favourite, it would have to be the classic duck pancakes.
There is also a selection of sweet treats to round off the meal with, which is always a bonus. I loved the chocolate fountain, it was the perfect amount of sweet but there is also ice cream on offer and little cakes not to mention the fruit.
I would say comparing this to other buffets in the area this is a really simple oriental buffet. The food was tasty, the restaurant was clean and the staff were helpful. Theres not too much going on and its a really reasonable price, ranging from £7-£14.
