I can’t quite believe that its the 1st of January 2018 and I’m sat here (slightly hungover), writing this post. Looking back at 2017, although there were many ups and downs and many tragedies and devastation to hit the world, I wanted to look back at all the positives that have happened this year and I personally had a pretty fantastic year, full of new adventures, challenges and meeting some pretty special people. I have continued to push myself and jump out of my comfort zones, in all elements of my life which I genuinely do believe is the best way to live life. I got my first tattoo this year, changed jobs, gave online dating a go and ventured on my second solo adventure across the globe! Its been a crazy, manic year filled to the brim with adventures and fun for sure. I love spending a little time just reflecting back on the year and going through all my photos reminding me of how fortunate I am and to not take anything for granted, also to look forward to the upcoming year, all the new adventures and challenges coming my way. I know everyone says it, but I really don’t know where the time has gone the past year but I want to thank everyone in my life who has made it a great.
January is always a great start to the year for me as its my Birthday month and I spend it with my favourite people…
2017 was definitely the year for theatre trips, I visited the theatre countless times over the year, both for blog review trips and also personal trips. One of my absolute favourites was surprising Grace to see Dream Girls, front row at the Savoy Theatre for her birthday!
Stockholm had been on my travel wish list for while, I visited this beautiful city in April with my two besties for a weekend of walking, laughing, meatballs and of course ABBA!
Summer of 2017 was fantastic. I had a beautiful few days away with Grace and her Family living our best lives at the Marbella Hideaway, drinking as much Sangria as our hearts could take and made an effort to explore places closer to home like the beautiful Jurassic Coast, Dorset…
My beautiful friend Sophie returned home after travelling the past year. Its been so lovely having her home again!
After 6 trains, a coach and getting stuck in a hail storm in Leeds, I finally made it to the last ever V festival after going for the past 6 years! I had an interview in Leeds the same day as the festival started, my friends went on to set up without me whilst I ran around the whole country and turned up at the festival in wellies and a pencil skirt… I received some odd looks thats for sure but was one of the funniest memories from this year.
In August I embarked on my second solo adventure and visited a country I have wanted to see for as long as I can remember. 2 weeks of camping and road tripping around the insanely beautiful Canadian Rockies, celebrating their 150th year. I completely fell in love with this country and can’t wait to go back. I also met a crazy group of beautiful and funny people that became friends for life.
2017 was the year that I met this guy, who has honestly made my 2017 so much fun! We are always going on new adventures together whether thats exploring different parts of London or the next european city to tick off our lists. I am super excited to see what 2018 has in store for us!
Carrying on the Halloween tradition of pumpkin picking, carving competitions and all things spooky in October…
I also visited Barcelona this year, somewhere I have always wanted to visit. It was the perfect sunshine escape from the horrible winter blues in between Halloween and the lead up to christmas. It was so vibrant and fun with so much impressive art and culture. I will definitely have to return to Barcelona some day…
This year London found a special place in my heart, I have seen so much of it and ticked so many things off of my bucket list from visiting Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Portobello Market, going on the London eye, visiting the Tate Modern and Kew Gardens – I really do love this city.
2017 has been full of many more incredible blogging opportunities, restaurant reviews, theatre reviews and press launch events. Its definitely been a busy year and I have loved every minute of it!
One of my favourite traditions, Bonfire night at Winchester spent with my favourite person! Theres something so special about the procession up the old cobbled streets before a fantastic firework display over the big bonfire.
Taking one of my friend to Harrods for cream tea as a birthday treat was so special, we enjoyed some sparkling champagne and the yummiest scones I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating. I am so glad we waited until December to go as it was all festive!
I completely jam packed my December with lots of fun, festive activities. Mainly in London, I visited Winter wonderland for the first time and loved it so much we went back another weekend! I visited the christmas lights at oxford street, covent gardens, somerset house and possibly my favourite part was the christmas lights at Kew Gardens!
2017 was the year I finally had the chop after neglecting my hair for far too long and letting it grow to a crazy length. This may not seem like a big deal to many, but I have had some awful experiences with hairdressers that this was a huge deal and although I loved my long hair, I really loved having the chop and a fresh new cut.
One of my highlights from this year was visiting my favourite city again, Paris. Its true what they say, Paris always is a good idea! Especially around Christmas. It was just the perfect time to go away and see all the beautiful sights and I loved going with Dan who is just the best travel buddy, super organised!
Before sitting down to write this post I thought this year had been pretty average but actually going through everything, its been awesome and I am so grateful for everything and I am excited to see what everyone will get up to in 2018…
