It is no secret that I love brunch – pancakes to be more specific – I am always on the look out for a new place for brunch, my favourite places being cute, little independent restaurants/cafes that offer a tasty menu with a warm and cosy atmosphere, that I can just sit and watch the world go by in. I think I have found just that in a little corner in Centenary Quay, Woolston, along the waterside and away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
I met up with my lovely Southampton Blogging friends a couple of weeks ago for a morning full of blogging and general chit chat over copious amounts of coffee and all the yummy food. Vospers was the perfect location for this, its a great size space, you aren’t sat in a canteen style, on top of other customers, the staff are friendly and attentive and managed to survive serving a large group of bloggers (which is a mission in itself). Their brunch menu is served from 9:30am-2pm – which gives anyone like me, who is always running late and all you late risers plenty of time to get down there!
Now onto the important stuff… the food! I love the menu, they have kept it really simple. If you are a McDonalds breakfast kind of person then forget the Mc Muffins…. Vospers have mastered the sausage muffin with great quality, locally sourced, fresh ingredients. The vegetarian muffin looked equally as delicious with halloumi, avocado and tomato. Or if you are feeling spicy then the cheese and chorizo toast sounded incredible.
I of course went for the pancakes, which were the popular choice of the group. You have two options for pancakes either classic maple syrup and bacon or blueberry, either are good choices, the pancakes were fluffy and offer a great balance of flavours. But looking down the table I honestly would of enjoyed the whole menu. fabulous presentation – nothing too fussy yet completely ‘Instagram worthy’. Its a perfect combination of quality and quantity. And to wash it all down Vospers have paired up with Metrics coffee (my absolute favourite coffee house in the whole entire planet) or you could be tempted by an fruit smoothie or maybe if your feeling really exotic, a mimosa or breakfast martini? Either way its all super yummy and all for a really reasonable price ranging from around £4-£7.
If you are after top notch food, a simple menu, the best coffee around and a fabulous team, you need to head down to Vospers! And if you aren’t a breakfast fan then their normal menu is as equally satisfying – check out my post that covers that here!
